Full-time Social Worker positions serving the district wide.
Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Social Work
Qualifications: Bachelors or Master Degree in Social Work Qualifications: Must have a social work license through the state of North Dakota Board of Social Work. Prefer three years of experience working with children and families and/or Masters Degree in Social Work.
Reports To: Building Principal
Job Goal: The school social worker will work in close collaboration with school teams to provide multi tiered assessments and interventions. The school social worker provides evidenced based prevention and intervention strategies to the educators, parents and staff members of his/her school community. The social worker is to work in consultation with school teams to provide a high level of service to meet the social and emotional needs of the student and the family. The school social worker will collaborate with outside agencies through various systems to provide consultation, intervention and referral to students and families. The school social worker should provide advocacy and culturally competent practice that shall be integrated in all facets of the social workers’ responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct multi-tiered school needs assessments that address behavioral difficulties intended to improve academic performance.
- Identify evidenced based/emerging practices that support the behavioral and mental health needs of students.
- Identify and connect community services to staff, students and families.
- Establish collaborative professional relationships.
- Contribute to safe and healthy school environment.
- Advocate for the policies, programs and services that provide culturally competent practice.
- Provide direct practice services that foster social and emotional competencies.
- Provide specialized services such as crisis intervention and consultation.
- Lead school teams in implementation of trauma informed practices.
- Mobilize school and community resources to maximize academic and behavior success.
- Maintain appropriate and sufficient documentation to facilitate the delivery of services.
- Continual professional development.
- Partnership case management in collaboration with Northeast Human Service center- as assigned.
Salary shown is based on 2018-2019 salary schedule. New salary to be determined per teacher negotiations.
