The Grand Forks Public School District is actively seeking applicants for a full-time adaptive physical education teacher.
Job Responsibilities Include:
*Teach adaptive physical education to students with disabilities at the elementary and/or secondary level in small groups or individually
*Develop lesson and unit plans
*Collaborate with school staff, parents, and outside agencies
*Consult with the regular physical education teachers and school staff to facilitate the inclusion students with disabilities in the regular physical education class, recess, and field trips
*Modify recreational games, sports, and fitness activities to meet individual student needs and strengths
*Develop, track, and report on IEP goals/objectives
*Attend IEP and team meetings
*Assist with the screening, evaluating, and recommendation of placements of students in the school’s adapted physical education program
*Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
*A bachelor’s degree in physical education
*Current teaching license in the state of ND or ability to attain it
Desired Qualifications:
*Experience teaching or working with students with disabilities
*Coursework in special education
*Coursework in adapted physical education
*Current lifeguard and CPR certification or ability to attain it
Primary Location:
*Itinerant position traveling between multiple schools each day
*Elementary and/or secondary levels

Salary shown is based on 2018-2019 salary schedule. New salary to be determined per teacher negotiations.
