Terms of Employment:  8 hours/day M-F, nine (9) months, academic school year of the students enrolled. 

The EL paraprofessional works cooperatively, assisting the EL teacher and classroom teachers in the instruction of English Language students. The responsibilities include:

1. Assist the EL teacher and classroom teacher in achieving EL program objectives by working with individual students or small groups and using techniques consistent with program design.
2. To reinforce learning of materials, concepts, and skills initially introduced by the EL teacher or classroom teacher.
3. To work with targeted students, using a variety of materials and instructional methods under the direct supervision of qualified teachers.
4. To confer with the EL teacher or classroom teacher on behavior or other problems about individual students.
5. Maintain confidentiality.
6. To attend professional development activities as assigned.

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements to be considered (be sure to attached documents when applying)

1. Associates (or higher) degree
2. Working knowledge in reading, writing, and math by completing two years (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education.
3. Pass the ParaPro Assessment test which is a North Dakota approved assessment of skills in reading, writing, and math. Evaluation:  Annual written evaluation by the supervisor with input from the building principal.
