Work Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 6:25am - 8:15am, 12:00pm - 12:30pm (2 hrs, 20 min per day)
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED. Previous experience with students with Hearing Impairments is essential. Must be proficient in ASL, and/or Pidgeon sign, and/or signing exact English (SSE) language techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Interprets all communications on behalf of early childhood-aged student during bus transport to school
- Ride bus with student both to and from school on a daily basis (½ day ECSE session)
- Demonstrates understanding of student’s disability, is courteous, respectful, and fair
- Act as a communication liaison between bus driver, monitor, student and school staff
- Demonstrates initiative
- Assists student with adaptive technology, as needed (e.g., communication books, visual cueing systems)
- Adheres to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
- Attends additional training when required by district
