Speech Coach - Each coach, in the state of North Dakota, follows the guidelines set by the NDHSSAA. Each Head Speech Coach, from a school, must: attend the Speech Rules Clinic (online or at the CSTAND convention) each year, take the online judges test, and attend the State A Speech Coaches Coach’s Meet at the State A Speech Tournament in the spring.
Season - The speech season runs from Jan. – April. The calendar, and tournament options, are on the CSTAND website. Coaches may practice in January, but do not travel until Feb. after the debate season is finished.
Parent Meeting - Each team should have a parent meeting, with your school’s AD and with a PTO rep. from your school. It’s good to have the meeting early in the season so you can answer any questions parents may have.
