Hours:  32.5 hrs/week, M-F, nine (9) months, academic school year of the students enrolled

 

Position open until filled.

 

Education:  High School Diploma or High School Equivalency

 

Qualifications:

Willingness and ability to work with a variety of students in a variety of areas, including and primarily as a monitor for students who need to be temporarily isolated for COVID-related symptoms that may present at school.  Ability to work as a team member, demonstrates human relations skills, and demonstrates effective communication skills.

 

Reports To: Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator

 

Responsibilities:   

Primary responsibility is to conduct preliminary assessment and monitor students who may present COVID-19 related symptoms during school in a temporary isolation area while wearing enhanced personal protection equipment. Secondary responsibilities may include being trained and working as a district level contact tracer, supervising students in other capacities when no one is ill, assisting with general clerical or office work, or other duties as able, determined by the site administrator.

 

  1. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  2. Maintain personal and student safety while supervising and supporting ill students.
  3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Communicate regularly with office staff and district nursing personnel.
  5. Demonstrate flexibility in fulfilling additional supervision or student / staff supports as needed.
  6. Willingness to be trained and work as a “contact tracer” at the district level.

Performing the job duties of this position requires the following physical demands: additional occasional lifting less than 50 lbs., reaching, standing, walking, carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and/or crawling.

 

The employee may encounter situations where students are physically ill. The employee may be exposed to infection at a greater risk than the average person. May be directly responsible for the safety, well-being and/or output of students.

 

Evaluation:  

Annual written evaluation by the supervisor
