1. Full and part time positions at various schools for the 2021-2022 school year. Current positions are located at Lake Agassiz Elementary, Wilder, Elementary, South Middle School, and Valley Middle School. If you are hired for this position, you will receive $200 upon successful performance and consistent employment in June at the completion of the school year if referred by a Grand Forks Public School current employee. Hours/days: Could potentially start at 6:30am and work no later than 2:00pm.
Minimum of 4 hrs. and a maximum of 8 hrs / day. Hours vary with each opening.
2. Substitute Cook positions at various schools for the 2021-2022 school year on an as needed basis.
Hours/days: Could potentially start at 6:30am and work no later than 2:00pm.
Minimum of 4 hrs. and a maximum of 6 hrs / day. Hours vary with each opening.
NOTE: Applications will be received, reviewed, and interviews completed by the Child Nutrition Director for job openings throughout the school year.
Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months (academic school year of the students enrolled).
Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
Qualifications: Positive human relations skills. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Job Goal: Providing customer service, develop food preparation and production skills.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparation and serving meals to students according to established methods and procedures
- Maintain high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on menu appeal and maximum nutritional value
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to frequestly walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the Supervisor.
