Full-time Site Coordinator for the ENCORE Program. Locations to be determined upon hire.
Terms of Employment: M-F, nine (9) months, academic school year of the students enrolled.
Elementary School Hours: 11:30 am – 6:00 pm, M-F
Education: Must have a degree in education or related field, preference to applicants with a North Dakota teaching license.
Qualifications: Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to obtain upon hire.
Job Goal: Help provide a high quality, safe and educational program for children after school.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Be able to plan lessons that are aligned with the Common Core Standards while selecting appropriate materials and resources that meet the abilities of all participating students.
- Provide lesson plans to support staff to help implement in the Encore program.
- Use positive techniques to guide student behavior.
- Communicate with parents and guardians.
- Work closely with appropriate school day personnel to address issues with student learning.
- Establish working relationships that demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, respect, fairness, and trust.
- Have awareness and show sensitivity to social, cultural, and language backgrounds of all families.
- Ensure student safety by practicing lockdown and fire drills.
- Create monthly parent newsletters and plan monthly parent night activities.
- Plan monthly staff meetings with support staff.
- Orientate, train, and supervise support staff and provide written evaluation bi-annually.
Skills Required:
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with families and school day personnel.
- Must be self-directed and highly motivated.
- Knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Suite, database software, as well as basic office equipment.
- Knowledge and willingness to follow grant guidelines.
- Ability to follow directions, work with a team, solve problems, and exercise good judgment under stressful situations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the supervisor.
