Job Description:

GFPS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to player development. As an Assistant Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Coach and contributing to the success of our team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Support Head Coach: Collaborate closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement training plans, strategies, and game tactics that align with team objectives.

  

Player Development: Work one-on-one with athletes to enhance their skills, techniques, and overall performance through personalized feedback and guidance.

 

Practice Sessions: Help plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions that are focused, efficient, and geared towards achieving specific player and team improvement goals.

 

Game Preparation: Assist in preparing the team for upcoming games by analyzing opponents, developing game plans, and coordinating detailed scouting reports.

 

In-Game Coaching: Provide strategic advice and real-time feedback during games, making necessary adjustments to optimize team performance.

 

Team Motivation: Foster a positive and motivating team environment, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic both on and off the field.

 

Recruitment and Scouting: Participate in the recruitment process by identifying potential talent, conducting tryouts, and evaluating player prospects.

 

Administrative Duties: Manage various administrative tasks, including maintaining equipment, and keeping accurate records.

 

Health and Safety: Monitor player health and safety by coordinating with medical staff, promoting injury prevention, and ensuring proper rehabilitation practices.

 

Communication: Act as a liaison between players, the Head Coach, and other staff members to ensure clear and effective communication within the team.

 

Qualifications:

- Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required.

- Strong knowledge of the sport, including rules, strategies, and techniques.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of athletes, coaches, and staff.

- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
